Meet Eric "Banjo" Bana
This is Banjo. Or Eric* as we like to call him. He is our Squirrel replacement.
You see, awhile ago, Squirrel ran away. She used to always escape but somehow would make it back home (when the pound didn't intervene). This time she didn't come back and animal control never found her. I've shed a few tears but have accepted that she's not coming back.
Eric is a lovely old gent. He's about 12 years old. He has a lovely natural mohawk. And he's really lovely with both the girls. He actively plays with Audrey (including hide and seek) and tolerates the baby with saintly patience. Whenever I put Margaret down to change her nappy he'll either lie right next to her and let her grab his hair or he'll hop in my lap to be a part of the action. He sleeps in bed with us with his head on the pillow like a human which, of course, is hilarious. He also tried to kill a chicken... but... yeah. We're more careful about that sort of thing now. He was pretty chuffed with himself about that. I don't think he learned his lesson to be honest.
He's earned my affections and really found his place here in the family. I love having him around. Especially to chase away the 12 zillion neighborhood stray cats.
Say 'Hello!', Banjo!
*Audrey can't say 'Banjo' and instead says "Bana"... Hence... Eric Bana. We just call him Eric now much to our great amusement.
